Jelena Knežević-Vukčević, PhD

Jelena Knežević-Vukčević, PhD is a full professor at Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, Serbia. She was a visiting researcher at Department of Molecular Biology, University of Edinbourgh, Great Britain and finished her post doctoral stay: 1990-1991 Laboratory of Enzymology, CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France. She participated in national research projects: "Plant antimutagens" (Serbian Ministry of Science, 2001-2005); "Natural antigenotoxic substances and mechanisms of their action" (Serbian Ministry of Science, 2006-2010). She is Councilor of Serbia in European Environmental Mutagen Society (EEMS), and dean at Faculty of Biology. She is the author of four books and over 100 scientific papers on microbiology. She is an expert in the field of microbiology. In the project, she will contribute research on comet assay. She is also a member of Serbian Genetic Society, member of the Editorial Board of Society journal “Genetika”, Serbian Microbiology Society, Serbian Biology Society and European Environmental Mutagen Society (EEMS).
