Noelia Negreira Ferrol, PhD

Noelia Negreira Ferrol, PhD. Born on 27th August 1983 in A Coruña (Spain). PhD in Chemistry by the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), 2007-2011. Since January 2012, post-doc at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research, IDAEA-CSIC, Barcelona under the supervision of Dr. Miren López de Alda Villaizán. Her work is focused on the development of analytical methodologies for the determination of emerging contaminants in the environment (water, dust, sludge), in biota and food samples, as well as in degradation studies in the presence of chlorine and bromine in the medium. Moreover, she is specialized in analytical instrumentation, such as GC-MS and LC-MS/MS, but also in pre-analytical sample treatments such as extraction, concentration, purification and derivatization. She has 9 papers published in international refereed journals.

Involvement in the project:
Quantitative chemical analysis of cytostatic pharmaceutical residues in aqueous samples (WP2) and identification of transformation products (WP3); dissemination activities (WP9).
