Miroslav Mišík, PhD

Miroslav Mišík, PhD studied general biology with specialization botany. Most of his publications concern the impact of environmental pollution on plants. So far he is author of nine international articles and seven scientific book chapters. He was involved in the realization of a number of Slovakian research projects and is currently working at the ICR in Vienna in the group of S. Knasmüller in the frame of two projects concerning the genotoxic effects of wastewaters. He is an expert in cytogenetic analysis in higher plants (micronucleus assays with Tradescantia, Allium cepa, and Vicia) and was also involved in the development of pollen fertility assays. MM is also involved in teaching activities within the frame of the international post graduate course in toxicology. Miroslav Mišik supervised one master student and up to 2007 teach general and- environmental botany at the Comenius University in Bratislava. He attends NATO/EST/Advanced study course of Western Illinois University (US) in 2004 and in the present the postgraduate course on toxicology at MUW (2007-present).
