Matjaž Novak was born in 27.01.1987 in Slovenia. After finished gymnasium he studied biology on Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana which he finished in year 2011. In July 2011 he started to work at National Institute of Biology in Ljubljana.

Involvement in the project:
He is working with zebrafishes (Danio rerio) which are our vertebrate model for researching short-term and long-term effects of cytostatics. He is included in WP5. In frame of this he performs comet assay on embryos in 24 hours exposure and also on embryos which are from two generation test. With comet assay we check if cytostatics in chosen concentrations induce DNA damage. He also developing/optimizing comet assay on ZFL cell line and also isolating DNA from embryos and from ZFL.
